Northala Fields, Kensington Road, Northolt – Highly Commended
A dramatic new park which impressed because it makes innovative use of waste materials (from the demolition of the old Wembley Stadium and the construction of Westfield shopping centre) and because it was self-funded using waste disposal charges.
Northfields Library, Northfields Avenue – Commended
A remodelling of an existing library which provides a welcome addition to the streetscape, with a very effective and eye-catching front elevation providing good disabled access.

Cloister Road Surgery, Cloister Road Acton W5 – Highly Commended
A new doctors' surgery designed for Ealing Primary Care Trust by Penoyre & Prasad LL. Good use of materials, lighting and external landscaping which creates a co-ordinated and welcoming mood.
'The Street' at Thames Valley University campus, St Mary's Road, Ealing W5 – Commended
An interesting side extension to the main 1950s college building. Designed for Thames Valley University by Nick Evans Architects on a narrow site in the form of a street layout.
Horizons Centre, Cherington Road Hanwell W7 – Commended
A training and support centre for young people which was imaginatively converted from two derelict Victorian warehouses. Designed by Ealng Council Architects Department it won the London Project of the Year for Community Benefit in the 2008 RICS awards
Mount Carmel School, Little Ealing Lane, South Ealing W5 – (People's Award telephone poll in Ealing Gazette)
Extensive contemporary additions to this Catholic school, which remains in keeping with the original 1960s buildings.

An innovative conversion and extension of a Victorian home formerly a doctor’s surgery which is sympathetic to the immediate conservation area. Designed by De Matos Storey Ryan.
Woodlands Park, Acton High Street Acton W3 – Commended
The attractive modernisation of a small public park hidden behind Acton High Street. The design by Richard Denney and Richard Pudney provides a sympathetic backdrop for the old icehouse, the only surviving building from the mansion demolished in 1903.
43 Mount Park Crescent, Ealing – Commended
The contemporary updating and extension of a large Victorian house in a conservation area. Designed by Wiliam Tozer Architecture & Design.
William Mudge Block, Twyford High School, Acton – (People's Award telephone poll in Ealing Gazette)
A modern addition designed by NBT Partnership contrasting with the various periods of the other buildings of the Church of England school.

St. Mary's Church, Ealing W5; interior restoration – Award
The sensitive and positive refurbishment of St. Mary's Church interior designed for the Parochial Church Council by Thomas Ford and Partners.
Horsenden Hill Farm Environmental Play Area; and Brent Lodge Park Animal Centre Playground – Commended
These playgrounds were designed for the London Borough of Ealing by Anna Harrison, Parks and Countryside Service, LBE.
Notting Hill and Ealing High School West Wing, Ealing W13 – Commended
A sympathetic addition to the school, in keeping with the existing buildings. The wing which includes a concert hall, swimming pool and sixth form accommodation was designed for the Girls' Day School Trust by Chris Benson.

Himalaya Palace Cinema, Southall – Commended
A major restoration of a 1930s picture palace originally designed by architect George Coles. It had been used as a market hall and then suffered a serious fire

A modern building designed by Burd Haward Marston Architects that manages to stand well in a conservation area where many of the other houses are a lot older.
St Andrew's Church Centre, Mount Park Road, W5 – Commended
This scheme, designed by Nicholson GDA Architects, comprises a remodelled church and community centre with a two-storey building connecting the existing halls and church to a number of rooms used by both the church and local charities.
